Hello,
Maple Tree Class have been busy completing reading, grammar and maths assessments this week. This is great preparation for the SATs in May and the children have been eager to see the progress they are making.
The huge highlight of the week was watching the 'Joseph' performance. We were so impressed with the singing and acting of the children Years 3,4 and 5.
We are looking forward to the Easter Egg Scramble next week. To participate, children need to bring in an Easter Egg and £1.
Have a lovely weekend. Don't forget the clocks go forward one hour on Sunday morning.

Hi,
UKS2 enjoyed a unique experience this week when we welcomed the UK's only Maya archaeologist to talk to the children about our current history topic. The children learned how amazing the Maya civilisation was and that the Maya people continue to live in Central America. In addition to learning about Maya pyramids, ballgames, chocolate, art and astronomy the children were given the opportunity to become 'Maya Experts' by looking at different artefacts and deciding what they were, what they were made of and who they would use them. It was great to see how engaged the children were in these discussions and they most definitely learned a lot during the morning.
It was lovely to see so many parents at the meeting about the forthcoming residential in April. Please do not worry if you were unable to attend as all the information provided is on the class web page under useful information and will also be sent home with the children. If you have any questions about the residential you can either email the class email account or contact the office who will pass the message on.
Have a great weekend!

Hello,
Excitement about the forthcoming residential is beginning to be felt by the Year 6 children. Myself and Miss Bairstow have shared details about Peat Rigg and the range of activities the children will be experiencing when they visit after the Easter holidays. This information will also be shared with parents at the meeting on Tuesday 14th March at 3:30pm. If parents/carers are unable to attend the meeting please do not worry as all information (including the kit list) will be sent home with the children.
We are continuing to plan and write our balanced arguments about the farming of palm oil and are hoping to complete these next week. In maths, my group have completed their lessons on area, perimeter and volume. Next stop is algebra!
The snow was a pretty sight this morning. I hope you have all managed to enjoy the snowy conditions.
