Ethos and Vision
A message from the Headteacher
I am very proud of this school, the children, the staff, the parents, the governors and the community that surrounds it. During my relatively short time here as Headteacher, I have become part of a wonderful learning environment in which children can thrive.
Rufford Park Primary School has a huge amount to offer your child: many unique qualities that combine to offer a rich and engaging education. The school has good standards of attainment, extensive grounds, talented teachers and support staff and an exciting curriculum. The governing body is supportive and effective in ensuring that the school is highly ambitious for all pupils; together we share the same vision for all our children.
Our vision is for every child in our care to: be happy, safe and have fun growing up; achieve at all levels of learning and acquire skills for life; be an active citizen who has a ‘voice’ and can influence; enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Ethos and Values
Our aims are for the children to:
- care for and value everyone in our whole school family
- be aware of the feelings and needs of others
- be polite and well behaved
- develop good listening and communication skills
- have high standards across the curriculum
- have high expectations
- develop a broad and balanced knowledge of the world in which we live
- be motivated and become increasingly independent learners
- become life-long learners
- be healthy
- respect the property of others
- value and care for their environment
We hope to achieve the above by providing:
- a positive and safe learning environment
- a broad and balanced curriculum
- a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere
- recognition and praise of good work, manners and behaviour
- encouragement to respect and value others
- good communication between home and school
- opportunities for parents to be involved in the life of the school
