Hi everyone,
What a fantastic start to the year! The children have arrived at school with smiling faces and a positive and enthusiastic approach to the year ahead. We have been busy revisiting maths and English knowledge and developing collaborative skills. The children have lots of exciting learning and activities to look forward to. Our trip to the Worth Valley Railway is on Wednesday 25th September where the children will learn lots of information about World War Two and will spend their day as an evacuee. This experience will be used in their writing and other topic-based work.
Just a few reminders. Black shoes are to be worn on non PE days (Maple Tree Class PE days are Thursday and Friday). Homework will be given out on a Friday and is to be returned on Wednesday. Children should be reading at home least five times a week.
Should you need to get in touch with me the class email address is maple@ruffordparkprimary.org.uk.
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi,
It feels very strange writing the final blog post of the year when we still have two days of term left.
Year 6 still have a few a more days and a few more treats to enjoy at Rufford Park. The children can bring a spare shirt in on Tuesday for the traditional signing and we hope to have a final Year 6 rounders match.
On Tuesday, the children enjoyed their leavers' pizza and disco and were delighted with the addition of the Magic Mirror - lots of memories were captured!
Below is a link to a gallery of pictures of the Year 6s enjoying their hoodies and disco/pizza party.
We hope you have a fantastic summer break and wish all the Year 6 children the very best when they start their secondary schools in September.

Hi,
The weeks are speeding by and the focus this week was the Leavers' Performance. Named and written by the children, they shared many funny memories from their time at primary school alongside some fantastic singing and hundreds of photos. The children were delighted to receive their Leavers' Hoodies to wear in the performance. Many thanks to the Friends of Rufford Park who kindly fund these for the children. This year, the Year 6 children were able to contribute towards these by raising over £700 through their 'Grow a £5' Challenge - Well Done Year 6!
Year 6 have many things to look forward to before school closes for the summer on Tuesday 23rd July. The children's highlight next week will be the Pizzas and Disco on Tuesday.
We are also hoping for some summery weather for rounders!
Have an exciting Euros football weekend. Year 6 are hoping to sing their version of Sweet Caroline next week......
