On Monday we all felt a little deflated this week after the result on Sunday night however we were quickly back to our jolly classroom vibe after discussing the importance of graciousness.
We have had a great week doing lots of seaside based work and on Thursday we had an amazing day where we actually brought the Seaside to Rufford Park! The children enjoyed the outdoor activities and crafts that were on offer throughout the day.

Hello Lime Tree Class!
A busy week comes to a close and I am sure we all feel the need for a rest after such an action packed 5 days!
We have continued to work hard on some Maths and English this week and I have been so impressed with the work ethic of the pupils at this stage of the year and I am sure they will carry this on for the rest of the year and into the next!
On Thursday we had our 'behind closed doors' day which we all thoroughly enjoyed! All pupils competed for one of four countries (Denmark, Italy, Spain and England). They scored points for the places they came in the Running, Hopping, Sack Race, Beanbag on Head and Egg and Spoon races. This contributed to the overall scores across school for an eventual winner. At the end of the day Denmark ran out winners by only two points after a great start in the KS1 events. All children enjoyed their individual events and took part with enthusiasm and fairness.
On Friday our pupils had some time with their new teachers for the coming year. After these sessions all pupils came back excited to share their thoughts and feelings about next year. I am so pleased to see everyone so excited about next year and I am sure everyone will continue to work hard and progress as they have this year!
And to continue with this week's sports theme... by the time I see you all on Monday let's hope that...
FOOTBALL WILL HAVE TRULY COME HOME!

Lime Tree Class have enjoyed a slightly shorter week in school! We have continued to work hard with our Maths and our English work, completing some lovely work on 'The Snail and the Whale'. We have been imagining where we would like to go in the world if we were taking a ride on the back of the whale! The pupils thought of some excellent places they would like to visit!
On Friday we have enjoyed an action packed day of FUN!
During the morning we started our project of making bunting with Seaside pictures on. We have designed these on paper and then cut them out of felt ready to sew and stick. We also had a surprise visit from Leeds United mascot, 'The Kop Cat'.
After an early lunch we enjoyed some super activities set up by the PTA on the field, MUGA and in the hall. The children enjoyed a variety of activities which can be seen in photos below!
Thank you for your donations to the 'Fun Day', it was a great success and all pupils certainly enjoyed it!
Have a great weekend

Well done to all pupils in Lime Tree Class for their efforts this week!
We have enjoyed our work on Snail and the Whale, which will continue next week. All pupils have tried extremely hard on their independent tasks this week and I have been pleased with the progress and effort the children are making!
We have been practising our '7 Continents Song' this week ready for our Big Sing assembly in a couple of weeks. Our pupils are really excited by this and have been eager to practice at any opportunity!
Have a super extended weekend everyone and I will see you all on Tuesday!

We have been working extremely hard this week in Lime Tree Class.
We have carried on with our work on 'The LIghthouse Keeper's Lunch', writing descriptions of characters, writing from different characters viewpoints and creating a healthy packed lunch for the story. We have also pulled this through into some art work on Friday afternoon where we drew and painted some lovely pictures of the lighthouse and the zipwire from Mr Grinling's cottage.
In Maths we have carried on with Time in Year 1, and some of our pupils are really beginning to get the hang of telling time to the hour and half past. Some Year 1s are even telling the time to quarter of an hour! Year 2 have worked on some mixed arithmetic and reasoning word problems this week and have worked extremely hard!
Have a great weekend everyone!
