It's been a great end to our 1st half term in Year 5.
We have completed our online presentations (QR codes for these will be available next half term so pupils can show you their creations). We have done some super English work, whilst learning about Queen Victoria and her reign. We have also managed to complete our Lower inspired, perspective-based art work.
I hope you have an enjoyable half term. Celebrate Halloween safely and sensibly.

One more week to go!
Oak Tree Class have had another busy week of learning. We have continued working our addition and subtraction knowledge in Maths, working on our Dr Barnardo presentations in Computing and working on our team skills in PE.
In art, we have continued with our Lowery style scene. Thinking about perspective, we have drawn and painted our 'middle' section of buildings and begun painting some figures as part of our 'front' section. Here are a few examples.

We have done some excellent work in English this week. We have been using our experience from our trip to Armley Mills and the work we have been doing during topic to write a diary entry from the perspective of a Victorian Child. The pupils have done a great job following the general structure, have used fantastic vocabulary and used suitable humour in their work. I'm really looking forward to publishing them next week and seeing the piece as a whole.
In art, we have used water colours to begin creating a landscape background for a Lowery inspired piece. We discussed perspective and how we could show distance in our paintings.
We have also completed our school display (first UKS2 class to do so) with some examples of our Dr Barnardo biographies and pictures form our trip. We will add some of our artwork when it is completed.
