Weekly Update 17/3/23

Mr Kyriacou (n.kyriacou) on: Beech Tree Blog

Hello everyone,

This week, the children completed their non-chronological reports , which we have been focusing on for the last few weeks. The children's reports were all about natural disasters, which included volcanoes, tsunamis and earthquakes. The children really enjoyed this piece of writing and have produced some excellent pieces of work.

The children have also been working hard on their assessments this week and I'm so pleased to see the different skills that we have been working on, for both maths and reading, being used effectively throughout their assessments. Well done!

In computing, we have been continuing with our topic around online safety, specifically focusing on passwords and security settings this week.

The children also created some lovely Mother's Day cards :)

Take care,

Mr Kyriacou :)

Weekly Update-3/3/23

Mr Kyriacou (n.kyriacou) on: Beech Tree Blog

Hello everyone,

This week, we have continued to read our mystery novel (Kidnap in the Caribbean) and the children are really enjoying it. We've also been focusing on our different reading skills when focusing on our comprehension work.

The children have also been working hard on their World Book Day t-shirts and we did a range of fun book themed activities on Thursday.

In science, we have been continuing our work on electricity. the children have been learning about the renewable and non-renewable ways that electricity is generated, as well as grouping items that require mains power and grouping items that require battery power.

In ICT, as part of our online safety topic, we were focusing on digital advertisements, where they appear on different websites, what advertisements appear, how do they catch your eyes and understanding what the purpose of advertisements are.

Take care,

Mr Kyriacou :)
