Hello!
It was wonderful to see so many of you at the Parent Meetings this week. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of your children's work and seeing just how hard they are working in Pear Tree. Everyone has made great progress since the beginning of the year. A big thank you from me for making the effort to come along.
In English we have been looking at features of a diary. The children have written their own diary entries as Percy (The 3rd Little Pig) about his traumatic week with the Big Bad Wolf. Everyone did a fantastic job at getting in to character and making sure to include all the features of a diary.
This week in Maths we have started to look at money. The children have been recognising and understanding the value of coins. We have also been ordering coins by value and making amounts to buy things from the shop using coins (pence only).
In Science we looked at animal diets and used Venn diagrams to sort animals into carnivore, herbivore and omnivore. We listened to this song to help us remember the names of the different diets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yrikH2QEFA
