Weekly Update 13.2.25

Posted: Feb 11, 2025 by: K Atkinson (k.atkinson) on: Lime Tree Class Blog

A slightly shorter week of learning has come to an end and we have made it to the February half term holidays!

We had a very musical start to the week, with the children enjoying an assembly by 'Back Chat Brass' which involved lots of singing and dancing!

In English the children enjoyed creating their own Super Veggie superhero and creating their own comic strip inspired by Supertato. We spent some time on Thursday morning sharing our work with Pear Tree class.

In maths Year 1 have spent the week recapping addition and subtraction using the number line. I was very impressed by how much of their prior learning the children could recall. Year 2 have recapped their understanding of division and multiplication and applied their learning to solve reasoning problems.

In computing the children also enjoyed using the BeeBot mats that they created last week to programme their BeeBots.

We also finished off our geography topic all about the UK by recapping the location of each of the four countries, naming the capital city of each country and identifying a landmark in each country.

Mr Dring delivered an assembly on Tuesday morning for 'Safer Internet Day' based around the theme 'Too Good to be True?' Please follow this link to support conversations with your child about how to use the internet safely.

Safer Internet Day 2025

I hope you enjoy the half term holidays. Lime Tree have worked so hard over the last few weeks and have earned a well deserved break!

I will see you again on Monday 24th Feb,
