Hi,
It has been lovely to receive lots of photos of Year 6 making the wartime recipes. In class this week, we discussed why rationing had to take place so the children have a better understanding of why these recipes were so important. The children designed their own rationing propaganda posters which will be displayed in class.
It was good to meet with parents and carers this week to discuss how the children in Maple Tree Class have settled into Year 6. Everyone has made a great start to the year!
The evacuee diary entries are almost complete and the children will be publishing these next week. In maths, my group has focused on simplifying fractions using their knowledge of common factors. A secure times tables knowledge is needed so children need to continue to practise these so they can have a quick recall.
Another busy week next week then we can look forward to the half-term holidays.
