Hello,
The final half-term of Year 6 has arrived and what a half-term we have ahead.
To kick start the final countdown, UKS2 enjoyed an Ancient Greek workshop. They learned about the importance of theatre in Ancient Greek society and how to use their bodies to show a range of emotions. To complete the workshop they recreated the myth of Perseus and Medusa which they will be retelling in English lessons next week. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.............photos to follow next week.
Leeds United Primary Choices also visited Year 6 this week. They delivered a workshop, as part of the PSHE curriculum, on the negative impact of crime and anti-social behaviour, supporting the children to make the right choices to divert them away from violence, harm and exploitation.
Just a reminder that Bikeability is taking place next week. All the children know the days that they are doing Bikeability (slips with this information have been sent home with them). If children are bringing their own bikes they have been advised to bring a bicycle lock with them so their bike can be securely stored in the bicycle shelter. Appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn. Weather conditions next week continue to look changeable.
Permission slips for 'Grow a £5' and Road Safety training have been sent out and need to be returned by Monday. Market Day Events for 'Grow a £5' will be on Tuesday 18th June 2-4pm and Thursday 27th June 2-4pm so children will receive their investment next week and will be busy planning and organising.
The link for the Leavers' Hoodies is now live Leavers' Hoodies Orders Please can all orders be received by Friday 14th June.
Finally, Year 6 PE Days are now Monday and Thursday.
Have a lovely weekend!
