Hi,
Maple Tree enjoyed World Book Day activities this week. Choosing a book that they have enjoyed, the children created super designs that were then drawn and painted onto T-shirts. I was impressed with both the creativity and artistic skills used. In addition, book covers were drawn that will be displayed in the cloakroom.
The children are doing quite specific tasks, throughout the week, to help them prepare for the KS2 SATs (Standard Assessment Tests). These assessments will take place on Tuesday 9th May - Friday 12th May. The children are working hard on their reading comprehension skills and accuracy on arithmetic methods. Regularly reading at home and having a secure times table knowledge is essential so practising at home is a great support to the work completed in school.
