Well done to these children this week!

Soul Music has been the genre of the week, but it has to be said that we have spent quite a lot of time listening to and singing along to Bugsy Malone too.

It has been a week of exciting events this week! On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to visit Benton Park High School to watch the dress rehearsal for their show, We Will Rock You. We really enjoyed it – and lots of children said that they learned some good hints for their own performances next week in Bugsy!

We also had a visitor, Dr Dianne Davies, leading a special Maya workshop. She started with an informative assembly and then led each Y5/6 class in a fascinating workshop with Maya artefacts. It was amazing to learn from the number one expert in the country and I was so pleased to hear all the questions the children asked her, to enable them to understand more about each artefact.

As well as continuing our PE unit on Outdoor Adventurous Activities, each week we are also strengthening our core by a weekly Pilates/Yoga sessions, a Weekly Mile run and a Go Noodle session. It’s always good to see how open to these new ventures my class is.

It has been lovely to see parents on both Parents’ Evenings this – I hope you were all suitably impressed by the work that you saw in their books so far this year!

I look forward to seeing many of you next week at the Bugsy Malone productions. Here’s a reminder of the dates and times:

Tuesday, 25 March – 1.30pm

Tuesday, 25 March – 6pm

Wednesday, 26 March – 6pm

All children from Y5 must be in school by 5.30 each evening...

It is expected that the performances will end around 7.40pm

(Please do remember that we need everyone from Y5 to attend and participate in every performance – each person has a very valuable role to play!)

Have a great weekend!

Mrs Adrienne Amos
