Congratulations to these hard workers this week!
100% Attendance Prize: Morgan
Gosh, it has been a busy week here at Rufford Park! The music genre that the children in Oak have been listening to has been ‘Legendary Bands’. The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones are among the tunes we have enjoyed.
In Maths, we have continued work on Decimals/Percentages, but we have also spent time doing our termly assessments. I will be able to speak with you about these at Parents’ Evening next week. (I hope you have booked a slot for Tuesday or Wednesday).
Our balanced arguments about palm oil continue in English lessons – we have been working especially hard to keep our language formal and to use relative clauses to add extra information. They are going to be a superb final piece of work, I think: one to be proud of.
DT this week had us all engaged in exploring cams and followers. (Every day is a school day....). We are looking forward to advancing these skills in our Animal Automata project.
Bugsy Malone rehearsals have continued for Y5 children – only a week or so to go now. Hopefully, all children can be at the two evening performances – it is really important you let me know as soon as possible if this is not the case. Most costumes have been brought in now – but if you haven’t managed to do this by today (Friday) could you please ensure it is brought into school on Monday?
Next week, we have the exciting opportunity to go to Benton Park High School to watch their performance of We Will Rock You (Tuesday morning) and also, an esteemed visitor, Dr Dianne Davies, will be visiting us to tell us all about the world of the Maya.
Homework this weekend is simply spellings and a letter-writing task. Details can be found in your child’s book bag…..
Have a great weekend
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
