Well done to these pupils especially!

EMO tunes have been the music theme for this week and Avril Lavigne’s classic hit, Sk8er Boi, was by far the most popular. Tune!
In English, the children are continuing to learn about newspapers and are constructing the two sides of an argument about deforestation in rainforests. It has been incredible how involved the children have become on the theme of palm oil. I gather some of you have even bought chocolate spread with NO palm oil in for Pancake Day – that is dedication. Thank you!
In Maths, we continue to learn even more about decimals numbers, especially with how they link with key fractions we know. This is knowledge for life – so please do quiz your child on the decimals for ½, ¼, 1/10, 1/5 and ¾.
World Book Day was fun again this year! I was really impressed with the variety of animal costumes created! We all took part in another BBC Live Lesson – and we took the opportunity to talk about favourite books we have. Please look at our pictures on the school Facebook page.
Bugsy rehearsals and prop making sessions continue – not long to go now! So please do encourage your child to learn their words (if they have not already done so). Tickets will soon be on sale, I am assured!
Homework is Maths, Grammar and Spellings – as always, due in on Wednesday. Next week is assessment week for Oak Tree Class, so now would be a good weekend to refresh times tables and other basic number skills (x by 10, 100, 1000 etc Number Bonds to 100, square and cube numbers)
I hope you have a super weekend.
Yours,
Mrs Adrienne Amos
