Cedar Week 5 Summer 2 w.e 05.07.24

Hello
An exciting week of learning again - the highlight this week was probably moving the classroom furniture for our Forces Science investigation exploring the effects of friction on a toy car. We investigated how the roughness of a surface can increase the amount of friction and thus prevent the car travelling very far.
In Maths we are concluding our units on pictograms, line graphs and translation on grids which the children have challenged themselves to complete. It's great to see them apply their skills independently that they have developed this year and see the great progress they have made. This also applies to their writing too where we have had great success as poets...who knew we are natural Kenning experts!
We have concluded all of our split year S.R.E lessons and I am very proud of how maturely the children have dealt with the content of the lessons and asked pertinent questions to ensure they are confident in their learning. Well done children.
The children have now completed their formal lessons learning about the Ancient Egyptians and we are preparing for them to present their homework projects to us in class over the next fortnight. You will have or will soon receive details, via the office, of our parent workshop/drop in sessions in LKS2 on Friday 19th July 3pm to 3:20pm so that you can also celebrate the success of every child in their Ancient Egyptian homework projects. Please arrive to enter via the classroom external doors (where you drop off/pick up) and we will let you in to join us. We look forward to seeing those of you who can join us.
