Weekly Update 28.5.21

Hi,
Another half term over and done with and just one left until the end of the year!
This week, I have been really impressed with the quality of writing in Ash Tree class. The children have shown a real improvement over the last few weeks as they have completed several different pieces linked to our Evolution/Darwin topic. It has been lovely to see them remember and use new vocabulary we have discussed as a class and the effort they have put into improving their work has been excellent.
Here are some examples of our descriptive writing from last week. Each child was given a chapter to rewrite from our class novel, Darwin's Dragons and they worked really hard to include lots of examples of figurative language. Have a read below and see if you can spot any similes, metaphors and personification! They really enjoyed getting creative and designing a background to mount their work on using sketching pencils, oil pastels and watercolours.
Have a lovely half term and enjoy the good weather that's forecast! See you after the holidays for our last half term as Ash Tree 2020/2021!
Miss Bairstow :)
