Hello everyone,
I hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and managed to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather :)
The children have all come back fresh, recharged and ready to learn. This week, in Literacy, we have started our work on persuasive texts, looking at a variety of texts and identifying the key features used within those persuasive texts. The aim will be to eventually create a persuasive leaflet for a Mary Anning theme park and we have already started to plan it. The children have already started to come up with some very creative ideas for Mary Anning themed attractions.
We have also started reading our brand new class novel, Stig of the Dump, which the children have been very excited about.
In Maths, we have continued our fractions work, focusing on tenths as decimals and comparing and ordering fractions with the same denominator. I'm very impressed with the fractions knowledge that the children have built up and the way that they use the correct mathematical vocabulary when working out problems and answering questions.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
Take care,
Mr Kyriacou
