Monday's U11 Cup match certainly lived up to expectations in a second half 6 goal thriller! Our first home game for some time had the team very excited to be able to make use of the new goals and newly painted lines. After a very evenly matched first half both sides came in for a well-earned break at 0-0. The second half was a different story, with Yeadon St. Peter and Paul making the score 0-1 early on. Credit to our boys, as we didn't let our heads drop and we worked hard to produce two well worked goals and take the lead at 2-1. After some end-to-end football throughout the second half, we unfortunately conceded 2 more goals to fall behind 2-3. Our players worked extremely hard to try and grab a later goal and we piled on the pressure right up to the whistle, which left us exposed at the back to concede the 6th goal of the game and ensure that it was Yeadon St. Peter and Paul that progress to the next round of the cup.
Games will be coming thick and fast now as we have home and away games to play in the league before the end of the year and the boys should be very proud of their efforts during this game. They showed great character and a real togetherness in coming back from 1-0 down.
