Weekly Update 4.12.20

Year 6 have completed their persuasive letters regarding the proposed closure of Leeds Sailing and Activity Centre. They have focussed well on this task and produced some excellent results. To support our persuasive campaign, Year 6 has also produced some posters which will be placed in classroom windows.
We continue to enjoy reading the novel 'Goodnight Mr Tom', which is helping our vocabulary to develop further.
In maths, we have been adding and subtracting mixed numbers. This has involved converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and improper fractions into mixed numbers. I have been delighted with the confidence with which the children are approaching their work and the enjoyment they are experiencing from completing more challenging tasks. Next week, we will be completing some assessment work that will help us to identify are areas of focus in the New Year.
The snow created much excitement in Year 6 this morning. Have a lovely weekend.
