Another busy week in Year 6.
In English , we are developing the use of persuasive language and have completed our first draft of a letter to be sent to Leeds City Council to express our concerns about the proposed closure of Leeds Sailing Club. We have discussed how this will affect both the children in Year 6 and the wider Leeds community. I was impressed that a number of children in the class prepared for this writing activity by completing their first draft at home over the longer weekend, last week.
In maths, we are beginning to apply our knowledge of adding and subtracting fractions to more complex problems, which we are now able to explain by using a wide range of mathematical vocabulary. A quick recall of times tables really helps with fractions.
We are beginning to think about Christmas so our Christmas tree will shortly be arriving to brighten up our class.
