Weekly Update - 21.3.25

Hello!
UKS2 had an exciting morning on Thursday as they were visited by Maya archaeologist, Dr Diane Davis, who brought along lots of fascinating Maya artefacts and delivered a fantastic assembly all about her work in the rainforest and the areas inhabited by the Maya. We all learnt lots of interesting facts about the Maya and have lots of budding archaeologists now! Dr Diane chose six "Maya experts" from the three classes who really impressed her during her visit and she also gave out some Maya worry dolls to her runners up! In other news, Y5 had a great time on Tuesday morning visiting Benton Park to watch the dress rehearsal of "We Will Rock You". This was great in advance of our performances of Bugsy Malone next week and gave the children lots of performance tips. We are all super excited about Bugsy next week! If your child has not yet brought in their costume please make sure this is in by Monday in time for the dress rehearsal. For any information regarding tickets please contact the office.
The Y6 residential to Peat Rigg is also drawing closer so if you have any questions about this please get in touch ASAP. Please also make sure your child has been practising making their own bed as this is their first challenge on arrival!
