Weekly Update 20.6.24

Hello,
Another very busy week in UKS2! I think we will be saying this until the end of term now...
On Monday and Tuesday Year 6 completed some pedestrian training which involved a classroom workshop and some practical road crossing as they planned a safe route to Benton Park. They have also been busy starting to learn songs for their upcoming leavers assembly!
Year 5 have been completing some assessments and have worked incredibly hard to show how much progress they have made this year.
On Thursday, we had the whole school sports day where the children competed in various different races to earn points for their houses. Thankfully the weather was kind to us (for once!) this year.
In amongst all of this, we have been continuing with the rest of our learning and have produced some great work this week on the similarities and differences between Athens and Sparta as part of our Ancient Greece topic. We have also modelled the Solar System using fruit (which we then enjoyed eating in an art lesson on Friday!) to give a visual representation of the different sizes of the planets in our science topic, Earth and Space.
Have a look at some of our highlights of the week below:
Have a great weekend!
Miss Bairstow :)
