Beech Tree Home Learning - 2.4.20
HOME LEARNING
Week commencing 02.04.20
Dear children, parents and carers,
Thank you so much for all your support in the first few weeks of working at home. I hope you're keeping well and finding plenty to keep you occupied! I am missing all of you but am glad to see some smiling faces on Thursdays when I'm in school. Are you behaving as well as you do in school? I hope so, as I'm sure your parents and carers are working hard from home too and need everybody to do their bit!
It’s nearly time for the Easter holidays, which means you’ll be coming to the end of your current home learning activities – I have no doubt you’ve all been working hard! There is no specific homework for the 2-week Easter break, but here are some ideas for those of you keen to keep busy…
- Set yourself a Mathletics Challenge (How many new gold bars can you earn? Can you beat your high scores on Levels 1, 2 and 3 of Live Races? How far can you progress on the Multiverse game? *Click here for a Parents’ Guide to Mathletics*)
- Achieve all 420 levels on Garage mode of TT Rockstars.
- EXTREME READING CHALLENGE: Can you read for at least 10 minutes every day of the holidays?
- Can you spot 30 different species of living creatures over the next 2 weeks and write them down? (Don’t forget to include pets, insects and different types of bird!)
- Keep a daily diary – include lots of detail and describe your emotions (this could become a primary source of history for future historians or Rufford Park students who will want to learn about the Corona virus!).
- Draw or paint a beautiful rainbow… then display it in your window to show your support for the hospital workers.
- How many songs can you sing from Charanga in two weeks?
- Create a nature collage (www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/zh4wmp3)
- Try some new PE ideas here: weareteachers.com/virtual-pe-classes/
- RE challenge: Find out about the Easter story and display your findings in a creative way (poem, dance, poster etc).
- Find a new way to relax - recharge your batteries!
Well done, take care and keep washing those hands!
