Weekly Update 1.4.21 from Mrs Cahill and Mrs Waddilove-Carr
Posted: Apr 1, 2021 by: admin on: Beech Tree Class Blog 2020-21
This is the final blog from rather strange term but how lovely that we all got to end it together (and even the sun came out).
On Monday the children practised their netball skills in PE they were learning how to shoot the ball, they split off into teams and had a shoot off to see which team could score the most points.
On Tuesday we took part in a real-life fossil hunt, inspired by palaeontologist Mary Anning. The children managed to identify a variety of ancient fossils - many of which were millions of years old - including ammonites, gastropods, shark teeth, crinoids and many others. After collecting the fossils, we sold them in our 'shop’.
We have been making volcanos this week, in groups the children used mod rock to construct their model of a volcano. On Wednesday the children used vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to explode their finished pieces. The lava came flowing out of the top to the chorus of screams and excitement.
We’ve ended the week dressing up in clothes that make us happy and we have had a lovely last day. I hope you all have a great Easter holiday, stay safe and hopefully we’ll get some nice weather.
