Welcome back to another blog post!
What have we been learning?
Maths: The children have been busy solving addition and subtraction problems using the column method.
Reading: We continued our work on poetry. This week we studied the rules of limericks and had a go at performing some of Edward Lear's most famous ones. We used expression and made sure that we emphasised the rhythm of the poem for our audience.*
*Please have a look at our 'Autumn Highlights' section on our class page to see Owen performing 'There Was an Old Man With a Beard' by Edward Lear.
Writing: We gathered our notes from last week to begin writing our non-chronological reports on 'The Romans in Britain'. Our SPAG focus this week was to use a range of conjunctions in our work.
Other subjects: Our assemblies have focused on anti-bullying this week so the children made posters giving advice on what to do if we see something wrong. We know to speak up and #choosekindness..
The children also gladly received dictionaries from the Rotary Club - these are the children's to keep and I'm sure they will be put to good use.
Wall of Fame
The 'Wall of Fame' is a display in our classroom designed to help children take pride in their work and recognise their own achievements. If the children are particularly proud of their work in a lesson they can ask for it to be put on the 'Wall of Fame'. It takes pride of place until there is no longer room for it! Can you see your work below?
See you next week!
