Weekly Update 8/10/21

Hello everyone,
This week, the children have been completing their recounts, which revolve around their trip to Murton Park. They have worked extremely hard on them and produced some super pieces of work, which will also be going on display!
As part of our topic work, Beech Tree have also been putting key historical events in chronological order on their timelines.
As part of our series of Viking lessons, the children have been learning about glue, how it was mad during Viking times and what it was used for. They then learnt about modern adhesives and what we use them for today. The children then investigated the strength of different glue, by adding weight into plastic cups that were attached to card that had been glued onto a lolly stick. Wood glue was the strongest as it took the most weight without causing the card to be torn off the lolly stick.
That's all for now,
Mr Kyriacou :)
