Hello everyone,
Beech Tree, have had another busy and exciting week. The children all went for their first swimming lessons, which they absolutely loved and they represented Rufford Park really well! Beech Tree have also won the Extreme Reader challenge for LKS2, which means that we have £100 to spend on a range of new books for our class! Very exciting!
This week, the children also performed freeze frames from scenes that appear in James and the Giant Peach. They worked in groups of three, created some amazing freeze frames and had lots of fun working together on them!
The children also did some dictionary work to find out the meaning of tricky vocabulary that will appear in the next chapter of our class novel, James and the Giant Peach.
In science, we had class discussions about what science is, who scientists are, different types of scientists, what they look like, what they do and how science has helped the world. We also looked at the different stages of an investigation and the children arranged them in the correct order.
The children have also started doing some planting and will continue to do so over the next few weeks.
Take care,
Mr Kyriacou
