Weekly Update 9.6.23

Hello everyone,
We have had a great first week back in Willow Tree! Although a little tired on Monday morning, the children soon got back into the swing of things.
In maths, we have continued with our topic of time and started to look at using digital time.
In English, we have focused on grammar and practised using expanded noun phrases. We have also created complex sentences using embedded clauses.
For guided reading this half term, we will be using a variety of different types of texts about the stone age and focus on the different comprehension skills ready for our assessments towards the end of the year.
We had a very exciting assembly on Tuesday when Tony "The Music Man" visited us from the Music for Schools Foundation. He told us all about the different instruments we could learn to play with our peripatetic music teacher, Miss White. Children were sent home with a letter about how to access extra information. The letter can also be found here https://www.mfsf.org.uk/parentinformation
Homework will be sent home today and is due in on Wednesday. Children should be reading 5 times a week and this is checked on a Thursday.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Simms
