Weekly Update 5.5.23
Posted: May 5, 2023 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog
Hello everyone,
As we come to the end of another week, Willow Tree have been busy working hard and getting ready for the King's Coronation.
In maths, we have been looking at finding fractions of different quantities and the children needed to use their times table knowledge to divide by the denominator and multiply by the numerator. We will be having a big push on times tables over the next few weeks but it would be great to see children making full use of the TT Rockstars platform. Please let me know if you are unable to find your child's login at the front of their reading record.
In Guided Reading, we have read through Stone Age Boy and we are now asking the question "Was it all a dream?". We are hoping to be able to answer this question over the next few weeks.
This week also saw a very exciting opportunity for children to take part in a Guinness World Record by completing a Mini Marathon. For this, each child pledged that they would run one mile and we completed this during our PE lesson on Thursday. Well done everybody!
To celebrate the Coronation, we have been creating collages of King Charles III using some fun, colourful pictures all to do with London. Children will be able to bring these home, once dry, along with a Coronation gift from the FORP. Thank you!
Homework will be sent home this afternoon and is due in on Wednesday.
Have a brilliant weekend!
