Weekly Update 31.3.23

Hello everyone!
We have made it to the end of a very busy Spring term and we are definitely ready for a good rest now!
This week has been another busy one! The children have been busy writing up their limericks, creating clay fossil replicas, finishing our class book "Kidnap in the Caribbean", attending the book fair afterschool and, of course, presenting their volcano projects!
Our topic lesson this week focused on using our sculpting and observation skills to create fossils out of clay. The children looked at a series of real life fossils and chose which one they wanted to create.
In maths, we have been looking closely at grams and kilograms and spent our Thursday morning measuring out ingredients to bake some biscuits. The children did a great job and it was fantastic to see that their knowledge of scales and increments is secure and they were able to create some delicious goodies!
It was great to see so many of you yesterday to celebrate the research projects created by the children. I hope you agree that they have produced some brilliant work! .
There will be no homework sent home over Easter but I would like all children to be reading regularly. Reading awards will be given out to those children have have read 10 times over the Easter break.
Have a brilliant and restful Easter break,
Miss Simms
