Weekly Update 10.2.23

Posted: Feb 9, 2023 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog

Hello everyone,

It was lovely seeing you all at parents' evening this week and I hope you can agree how much progress the children have made this academic year!

We have had a busy week finishing off many of our topics for this half term! We have completed our volcanoes work by painting our volcanoes, looking at the causes of earthquakes and tsunamis and finding out lots more information about different types of volcanoes in our Guided Reading sessions.

In our English sessions this week, we have finished our leaflets which aim to persuade people to stay safe online. This has fit in seamlessly with our work throughout Internet Safety Week and more information about how to stay safe online can be found here https://saferinternet.org.uk/guide-and-resource/parents-and-carers

There will be no homework set this week but we encourage children to continue practising their times tables on TT Rockstars (a reminder of usernames and passwords will be sent home tonight) and their number bonds and addition and subtraction skills on Hit the Button.

Please keep reading at home, anything and everything should be recorded in your child's reading record. I will be sending home some book reviews for the children to complete if they wish to share anything they have read and we will be using these as part of our vote to choose the next class story.

Have a restful week,

Miss Simms
