Weekly Update 3.2.22
Posted: Feb 3, 2023 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog
Hello everyone,
We have had another good week in Willow Tree Class but today has been by far the most exciting! After celebrating lots of achievements in Celebration Assembly we spent the morning adding the final pieces of papier mâché to our volcanoes to make them look more textured. Then, we walked down to the field to watch a real life eruption take place, which was rather exciting! (The eruption was definitely not to scale…).
In the afternoon, we learnt all about the importance of composting and how it can help us to give plants the right nutrients to grow. Once we found out why we needed to compost, we set about building our own compost bin! We will be adding the worms next week so that children who want to use these at home will be able to get started with them straight away.
It has certainly been a busy day and we look forward to next week when we produce our Online Safety leaflets, investigate perimeter and paint our volcanoes. I also look forward to seeing you all at Parents' Evening. If you have not yet booked an appointment, please do so as soon as possible.
Homework will be sent home tonight and is due in on Wednesday. We are finding more and more children are reading at least 5 times each week but we would really like to see every child in the class achieving this.
Have a fantastic weekend!
