Weekly Update 4.11.22

Hello everyone,
We have had a great first week back and it has been brilliant to see the children return to school eager to learn and ready to challenge themselves. We have had lots of different activities this week with children taking part in rehearsals for the Tree of Lights festival at Yeadon Town Hall, as well as cross country trials and our Northern Ballet Workshop (pictures from the session can be found on the class page).
In maths, we have continued to look at column methods for addition and subtraction. In science, we have recapped our learning on the digestive system and looked at the different parts of food chains.
In English, we are building our skills to write adventure stories and have been looking at character descriptions and speech marks this week ready to write our story next week.
In PE, we have started our skipping lessons which has been an excellent way to increase our heart rate and boost our energy levels.
Homework will be sent home today along with this week's spellings. Please make sure your child has read at least 5 times before next Wednesday so they can receive one of our class reading rewards. We will be doing our Times Tables Awards test next Thursday so we encourage you to have a go on TT Rockstars before then.
