Weekly Update 17.6.22
Posted: Jun 17, 2022 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog
Hello everyone,
The weather has been fantastic this week and has brought along lots of opportunities for us to get outside in the fresh air, including our trip to Rawdon Billing this morning! The children walked to and from the Billing as part of our whole school Art project. While we were there, we used natural resources to create our class name "Willow Tree" with hieroglyphs.
Also linking to our Ancient Egypt topic, we have finished creating our clay canopic jars decorated with gold paint and hieroglyphs.
During maths we have been investigating different types of angles around the classroom including right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles.
In English, we have begun looking at writing an adventure story set in Ancient Egypt and this will continue next week when we start looking at adding expanded noun phrases to our character descriptions.
Spellings for the week are: treasure, measure, pleasure, enclosure, closure, leisure, exposure, pressure, composure, fissure.
Have a lovely weekend.
Miss Simms
