Weekly Update 10.6.22
Posted: Jun 10, 2022 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog
Hello everyone,
What a great first week back we have had in Willow Tree Class! The children have come back ready and raring to go this half term and it has been brilliant to see.
In maths, we have been focusing on statistics by looking at pictograms and bar charts carefully so we can interpret information from them. In science, we have started our new topic on Light and the children have shown a good understanding of the differences between light and dark and the importance of both of these.
We have also begun our DT project for this half term which is to create Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars! The children have used clay to shape the lids based on the Egyptian God of their choice and next week they will be creating the body of the jar ready to store some organs inside.
A polite reminder that we now change reading books on a Thursday so please ensure your child brings their reading record in on this day. Additionally, as the days start to getting warmer, please make sure your child has a water bottle with them and either has sun cream on already or brings it with them (particularly on our PE days).
Homework this week continues to be our Ancient Egypt project and the spellings and TT focus can be found here.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Simms
