Weekly Update 29.4.22
Posted: Apr 29, 2022 by: K Simms (k.simms) on: Willow Tree Class Blog
Hello everyone,
We are well and truly back into the swing of things this week and the children have done so well with their learning.
In maths, we have continued to look at money and have practised moving between pounds and pence and checking our change.
In English, we have collected lots of information about the Ancient Egyptians and have used the grammatical skills we learnt last term to make our sentences better.
We have had lots of children achieve their Bronze Award for Merit Points meaning they have achieved 60 Merits which is a significant achievement and there are many more children on their way to achieving this.
I have seen lots of children at the Scholastic Book Fair this week which has been fantastic and we are so impressed with how enthusiastic the children are to read and develop their fluency and comprehension skills. Well done!
At the Book Fair, children had an opportunity to vote for the favourite "Book in a Box" and I am extremely proud to congratulate the LKS2 winner: Jakub and his fantastic Monkey Puzzle project!
We have also welcomed 18 new friends into Willow Tree Class who we will be watching grow and transform over the rest of the Summer Term (and hopefully beyond!). Our stick insect friends will be joining us on our learning journey and I am sure the children will love to watch them grow!
Homework has been sent home today. Please ensure this is returned by next Wednesday and, of course, keep up the excellent reading!
Have a fantastic weekend,
Miss Simms
