Weekly Update 1.10.21

Happy 1st of October everyone!
It's certainly starting to feel a lot more like Autumn now with darker mornings and colder days but here in Willow Tree Class we have still been having lots of fun and learning all sorts of new, exciting things! We have finished our maths topic on Place Value and the children did a fantastic job of placing themselves in ascending order with numbers from 0 to 1000. We created self-portraits using oil pastels and put a Viking spin on them. We have started our new class reader "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes and the children have done a brilliant job of using dictionaries to find the meaning of tricky words and choosing exciting adjectives to describe the "gargantuan, metallic man".
Homework will be sent home tonight and is due back in on Wednesday. This week involves creating a poster for their School Council Campaign, trying out two activities to practice their spellings (these activities are located in the back of their homework books) and trying to beat their scores on some division games...
