Weekly Update 14.10.2022

Another busy week has come to an end. It was lovely to get a chance to talk to all of you at Parent's Evening and tell you about how well the children have settled into Year One. Just a reminder, please make sure that jumpers, cardigans and PE hoodies are labelled. We have had a few pieces of clothing get mixed up this week and it is very hard to return things to the rightful owner if they are not labelled.
In maths the children have continued to explore addition and have used the Numicon to write different addition sums. We have also introduced the number bonds to 10 and the children have enjoyed playing 'Hit the Button' - an online maths game which you can find here: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
In science we have learnt about different world habitats and discussed the plants and animals that live in the desert, arctic, rainforest and ocean.
In English the children have all written their own onomatopoeia poem inspired by 'What the Ladybird Heard'. You can find a range of poems to listen to here: https://childrens.poetryarchive.org/
Enjoy the weekend and I will see you all again on Monday.
