We've had another great week in school.
In music, we have played call and response rhythms on the African drums whilst singing Hakuna Matata.
We completed our final full piece of written work in English with the children writing their own set of instructions for how to make African crunch biscuits. The standard of the writing was exceptionally high and all children completed their work independently.
In maths, we recapped our knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed meeting their new class teacher on Wednesday morning and are feeling excited to be going into Year Two after the summer holidays.
Today we spent some time talking about what we have enjoyed most about Year One. A lot of the children said that art was their favourite subject so we spent some extra time looking at famous artists and all the children recreated Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' and coloured them in with oil pastels. Have a look at out artwork below!
Please read the newsletter for details about how we are going to manage with the heatwave on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Enjoy the weekend and I will see you for our final week of the academic year on Monday!
