Hello!
We have had a nice first week back in Lime Tree. Everyone came back ready to learn and have fun :)
In English we have been writing diamante poems about our focus text 'Lila and the Secret of Rain'. It is really important to follow the structure when writing a diamante poem and the children all did a fantastic job. We had some very brave children share their poem with the whole class.
In Maths Year 1 have been consolidating number bonds within 10 and using them to solve word problems. Year 2 have been looking at partitioning in different ways and how we can use this when subtracting two two-digit numbers (not crossing the tens).
In Science we have started our new topic 'Living Things and Their Habitats'. This afternoon we went on a nature walk and were able to find some micro habitats for minibeasts and someone even spotted a nest which was being used by birds.
In Computing we had a ScratchJr recap lesson before moving on to our new focus. The children have really enjoyed our work on ScratchJr and it is fantastic to hear that some have even had a go at using it at home!
