Hello!
With Monday being a training day this week it seems to have flown by! It was lovely to welcome back so many smiling faces on Tuesday. Most of the children definitely had their Rufford Park Learner hats on and were ready to get stuck in to some work.
In English our new focus text is 'The Smartest Giant in Town'. The children started by writing predictions and then moved on to creating a word bank which they used to write a description about George the giant.
In Maths both Year 1 and 2 have been recapping on addition and subtraction. We revisited the different methods and resources we can use to help us with solving problems.
In Science our new topic is all about plants and trees. We spent our first lesson looking at the the structure of plants and what parts they all have. We listened to this very catchy song which you might like to share at home! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bFU_wJgvBI
Thank you for those of you who have already returned the 'Little People, Big Dreams' thought bubbles. There is still plenty of time before World Book Day to return these. Just a note to say that the children do not have to choose someone from those books. They can choose ANYONE that inspires them :)
