Hello!
A very busy week with lots of Christmas performance practice going on! We will be doing the first performance next Wednesday 13th at 2:00pm and the second one will take place on Thursday 14th at 9:30am. We are all extremely excited for you to see all the hard work we have put in to making 'The Inn-Spectors' a fabulous performance.
In English, we have continued with our focus story 'The Emperor of Absurdia'. The children have been planning a diary recount as the Emperor. They have been practising using first person and time words to recount the events of his day in order.
In Maths, Year 1 have moved on to numbers to 20. They have been familiarising themselves with the teen numbers (thinking about what they look like and their value). They have also been attempting some problem solving questions. Year 2 have moved on to subtraction. They have been subtracting from a multiple of 10 and also subtracting across a 10 (looking at how partitioning and finding 10 first will help them).
In Science, the children have been sorting materials based on their properties. The children found that many materials could be sorted in to a lot more than just one property!
On Monday morning a little visitor arrived in Lime Tree... Buddy the Elf. Buddy is a Rufford Park Learner elf and he works very hard! The children have been catching him doing all sorts of activities this week.
Have a lovely weekend.
