Hello!
The second week in Lime Tree has gone by in a flash. The children from Year 1 and 2 are bonding well and it is lovely to see new friendships blossoming! All the children are now becoming familiar with our new routines and have been working super hard.
In English we have started our new focus text 'Katie in London' and have been writing descriptive sentences about the Lion from Trafalgar Square who is Katie and Jacks special guide in the book. I have been really impressed with everyone's fantastic writing.
In Maths Year 1 have continued with the focus on numbers up to 10. We have also been looking at different representation of numbers and how to use the '=' symbol to show the 'same as'. In Year 2 we have been using base 10 and place value mats to recognise the tens and ones within numbers up to 100.
We started our 'Exploring Different Media' topic in Art with Pencils. The children really enjoyed exploring different techniques to create lines, patterns, shapes, and textures. In PE we have been practicing our under arm throwing with a partner. Everyone has worked really hard on their hand-eye coordination!
