It's beginning to feel a bit more like Christmas! We are in December, the tree is up and the preparations for the Christmas Performance are well underway.

The children have all worked really hard to learn their lines for our performance of 'Prickly Hay'. They are really enjoying singing the songs and are getting excited for next week.  You are going to be in for a real treat! I hope that watching our performances will help you to begin to feel more Christmassy too. Hopefully your have all returned your request forms for tickets to either our performance on Wednesday or Thursday.

Although the play has taken up quite a lot of our time we have still managed to continue our Florence Nightingale inspired writing.  This week we have been writing postcards from Scutari back home to family in England. The children's writing is really showing a good understanding of what working in this hospital was like for Florence and her nurses.

In maths we have been adding pairs of 2 digit numbers.  We have been using practical equipment and partitioning to add the tens and ones. This week's homework is reinforcing this learning.

On Monday the children should all have brought home some toothpaste and a brush. Mr Spence was teaching them about the importance of good oral hygiene and how regular brushing is crucial.  I hope they have been super keen to get those teeth brushed twice a day!

This week we have been super readers and have managed to win the 'Aslan Reading Challenge'.  Nearly all the class read at least 3 times at home last week.  Once again, thank you for your support at home with this challenge.  Please continue to 'Read, Read and Read' at home.

Have a wonderful weekend.
