It was lovely to see all the children back in school on Tuesday.  We are now in the final term of the year.  Where has the time gone?

We had a few lessons to finish, so we are continuing with our topic 'Yeadon Explorers' for the first 2 weeks of the term.  This week the children have been learning about the old school 'South View School'.  They have been looking at evidence on the school grounds of the old school.  These included the old walls, original window and the old stone sign that was above the entrance.

In English we are continuing the theme of Yeadon to write some Yeadon inspired poetry.  The children have been looking at List Poems and becoming more familiar with the structure of poems.  They have written their own List Poem using their walk to the Tarn for some ideas.

In maths we have been using the inverse to solve missing number addition and subtraction problems. We have also been using our addition and subtraction skills to solve number sentences and then compare them using the less than, greater than and equal to signs.  We will be continuing to work on our quick recall of times tables facts for 2,5 and 10 times tables.  Your help at home to work on these would be appreciated. The children need to know the multiplication and division facts for these times tables.

Well done to all the children who completed the 'Screen Time Challenge'. The winning classes will be announced next week.

Remember that the Book Fair will be in school all next week.  You will be able to visit this either before or after school.  Please look at the school newsletter for more information.

Enjoy your weekend.
