Last week I started my blog with the thought that summer was on its way and this week it feels like winter has returned!

It really has been a very busy week in Year 2 Cherry this week.

On Tuesday we had a little trip out with our local walk to the Tarn.  The weather was not quite as warm and sunny as I would have liked but the children loved getting out of school.  We looked at lots of human features of Yeadon and talked about what things were old and new.  The children were amazing and I am sure all the general public that we saw will have been impressed with their excellent behaviour.

This week we have continued our work using the story Stick Man.  The children have been writing sentences using commas in a list to do with Stick Man and his adventures.  They have also been planning their own Stick Man adventure using Yeadon as a setting. To help them really get their creative juices flowing they even made their own Stick Man.

The children shared their new adventure with a partner and used their Stick Man to help bring the story to life.

In maths we have continued our work on Time.  Any work at home on telling the time would really be appreciated.

I can't believe we have come to the end of another term.  The school year is really going too fast.

Please make sure that your child reads as much as possible in the holidays.  They have all got a Screen Time Challenge  sheet home with them and reading is one of the things that they could do instead of picking screen time.  The winning class will get a special treat (it will not be watching a film).

Wishing you all a very happy Easter holiday.
