If feels like summer is finally on its way!  The weather has been beautiful this week and the children have loved being able to go outside without needing big coats.

Please remember that even in warmer weather children do need a coat in school each day.  The weather can be very unpredictable. Please also make sure that your child has their water bottle in school.

We have been doing assessments this week.  I have been very impressed with the children.  They have all worked really hard and tried their very best!

In English we have started a new story, 'Stick Man', by Julia Donaldson. The children have been sequencing the story using pictures and partner talk to retell the main parts to each other.  Next week they will be planning and writing their own Stick Man adventures using Yeadon as a setting.

In science we have continued our work on Plants. The children have been looking at the difference  between wild and garden flowers.

Next week, weather permitting, we are doing our Local Walk to the Tarn.  Please make sure that you have returned the permission slip by Monday.  On this walk we will be focusing on old and new features and things that are human and physical features.

Enjoy the lovely sunshine this weekend.
